Additional learning support
Our school is a school for a specific purpose (SSP). We provide tailored support to students with disabilities and diverse learning needs. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and ready to learn. We use a student-centered, strength-based approach to learning, ensuring students can fully engage in all aspects of school life. We are here to partner with you and your child every step of the way.
Support tailored to every student’s needs
At our school, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to build confidence and achieve their best. We are committed to high expectations for all learners and provide individualized support that recognizes and builds on each student’s strengths and unique needs. We work closely with families and stakeholders to develop personalized support plans and make adjustments that help every student thrive.
Additional learning support can include:

- specialist support to provide students with a voice, with an emphasis on Alternative and Augmentative Communication
- providing tailored programs to help high potential and gifted students with their advanced learning needs

tailored instruction to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support for students
-
regular check-ins to review and update the planned supports

- flexible seating
-
extra guidance, simpler content or different focus during lessons
-
assessment adjustments:
- differentiated assessments

We recognize when a student may benefit from extra support by:
- Having deep knowledge of our students and what they need to succeed
- Noticing changes in learning of behavior
- Reviewing assessment results and individual progress
- Listening carefully to concerns or requests from parents and carers
All supports are planned collaboratively with parents and carers and reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to meet each student’s needs. If you feel your child could benefit from additional support, please reach out to us. Together, we will ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed and flourish.
